Säästvad Ehituslahendused Ltd. (SE) has collected a lot of valuable salavge material from different buildings that are going to be demolished. We wished to give it an extra value by creating something new of it. The company had and has diverse possibilities and good craftsmen to practically make the new products, but we needed intereseting ideas and design solutions.

Estonian Academy of Arts (EKA) Open Academy organised a 52-hours course for the BA IV course students to find design solutions for the salvage material and reuse material offered by SE. The designers created solutions that could be made practically during the project.

The project was important to get to know if the reuse of salvage material is a perspective output for the company. The designers of EKA Open Academy are competent enough to know which products are reasonable to create. The products had to be with a reasonable price and with an innovative and interesting solution. As the result of the project there were made several products with and extra value.

During the project SE got knowledge how to better reuse salvage material, what are different possible design solutions and technologies for creating them. New skills and knowledge are useful for developing the activities of the company in the field of reuse material.
